Tube and bracket hosted a Technical workshop on 15th November for The Carver Group, a family owned business that manages a portfolio of manufacturing businesses; Biddle, Thermoscreens, Carver Clamps and Widney Leisure. The Event was held at the Banbury Head Office at Middleton Cheney.
The Carver Group has it’s headquarters in the UK, representation in 50 countries and branch offices in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom and Canada. The Group’s three research and development centres co-operate with universities to develop the latest technologies in customer oriented solutions. The Carver Group is represented on the HVAC standards committees, helping to shape the future of the industry.
The Carver Group has been a customer of Tube and Bracket for several months and most recently have been working on a project to incorporate a universal kitting trolley to enable the streamlined building of air conditioning units.
The workshop event was recommended as an initial platform to become familiar with the tube and bracket system and was an ideal opportunity to see the system in use within the T & B facility.
Technical workshop attendees were given a walkthrough tour of new Tube and Bracket facility on arrival, followed by a presentation by Andy Coles, Tube and Bracket Operations Director. The presentation started the workshop with a brief overview of types of tube and brackets available and their function. How components are used to create applications, eg. workstations and trolleys etc. Tips on assembly and how to the ensure support strength of tubes and brackets.
An inspection of a prototypes suitability with Biddle componentry and the initial stages of second trolley build followed, this was completed after lunch. The day was rounded off with a debrief and discussion of next steps.
Attendees from Carver and Biddle scored the event 9 &10. Here is some of the the feedback:

Technical workshops, designed by our Kaizen team, are available on request and are one of the key services we offer to support our customers.
Andy Coles commented:
We offer technical workshops to our customers to help them achieve the best possible outcomes from our products and give them the independence to work autonomously for continuous improvement. It’s really great to see the guys get so much out of the workshop, which for me personally makes it all worthwhile.
